Top 5 Things to Do in Santa Clara County This Weekend
If you're looking for something fun to do in Santa Clara County this weekend, you won't have to go far.
From Friday, August 21 through Sunday, August 23, the South Bay is packed with events for families, music lovers, sports fans and anyone who simply wants to get out and enjoy the community.
One of the things I love about living in Santa Clara County is the incredible variety of experiences available within a relatively short drive. You can start Saturday morning with free yoga at Santana Row, take the kids to a LEGO convention, enjoy the Santa Clara County Fair in the afternoon and finish the evening watching professional soccer.
Here are my top five picks for this weekend.
1. Santa Clara County Fair
Santa Clara County Fairgrounds
📅 August 19–23, 2026
If you only make it to one community event this weekend, the Santa Clara County Fair is my top pick.
The annual fair continues through Sunday, August 23, bringing together carnival rides, live entertainment, food, agricultural exhibits, livestock competitions, home arts, community exhibits and local vendors.
Friday and Saturday are especially good opportunities to visit, with the fair open from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday hours are 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.
For families in Almaden Valley and throughout South San Jose, the fair is an easy way to enjoy a classic summer tradition without leaving Santa Clara County.
And there's something particularly special about community events like this. They showcase the local lifestyle that makes the South Bay such a desirable place to call home.
2. Karol G at Levi’s Stadium
Levi's Stadium
Friday, August 21 & Saturday, August 22
⏰ 7 p.m.
For a big night out, Karol G is bringing her Viajando Por El Mundo Tropitour to Levi's Stadium this weekend.
There are shows scheduled for both Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m.
If you're attending, plan ahead. The City of Santa Clara is warning visitors to expect significant traffic and delays around Levi's Stadium, including on Highway 101, Highway 237, Highway 880, Lawrence Expressway and San Tomas Expressway. Tasman Drive will also have a closure beginning at 9:30 a.m. and continuing until after the event.
VTA is also adding extra service to help concertgoers reach the stadium.
For residents, this is another reminder of the entertainment and transportation infrastructure available throughout Silicon Valley.
3. Brick Blast 2026 at the Santa Clara Convention Center

📅 Saturday, August 22
⏰ Approximately 9 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
Have a LEGO fan in the family?
Brick Blast 2026 is coming to the Santa Clara Convention Center on Saturday for a full day dedicated to LEGO creativity.
The event features interactive exhibits, hands-on building zones, LEGO fan creations, games, activities, vendors, rare sets and minifigures. It's designed for families, collectors, hobbyists and adult LEGO fans alike.
This is one of those events that can appeal to multiple generations. Kids can build and explore while adults can admire the creativity and craftsmanship behind some of the larger displays.
It's also a great example of the educational and family-oriented activities available throughout Santa Clara County.
4. San Jose Earthquakes vs. Minnesota United FC
📍 PayPal Park, San Jose
📅 Saturday, August 22
⏰ 7:30 p.m.
If soccer is more your speed, the San Jose Earthquakes take on Minnesota United FC Saturday night at PayPal Park.
The match begins at 7:30 p.m.
A professional soccer match makes for a fun date night, family outing or evening with friends—and because the game is in San Jose, it's another convenient option for South Bay residents.
For Almaden Valley residents, having professional sports, concerts and family entertainment all within easy reach is one of the lifestyle advantages of living in the South Bay.
5. Free Yoga & Pilates at Santana Row
Santana Row
Santana Row Park, San Jose
📅 Saturday, August 22
⏰ Check-in at 8:30 a.m.; class at 9 a.m.
Not every weekend activity needs to involve tickets, crowds or a big production.
For a more relaxed start to Saturday, Santana Row is offering a free outdoor yoga session in Santana Row Park. The weekly event is open to the public, with check-in at 8:30 a.m. and the class beginning at 9 a.m.
It's an easy way to start the weekend with some movement before heading out for brunch, shopping or other activities around the South Bay.
And that's another thing I love about Santa Clara County: there are plenty of ways to enjoy the area without spending a lot of money.
Why Local Events Matter to the Santa Clara County Lifestyle
One of the reasons Santa Clara County continues to attract people from throughout the Bay Area and beyond isn't just its employment opportunities.
It's the lifestyle.
Residents have access to major concerts, professional sports, community festivals, farmers markets, outdoor recreation, restaurants, shopping and family activities—all within the same region.
For homeowners, these amenities can become an important part of everyday life.
A Saturday morning yoga class, an afternoon at the county fair or a night at a soccer match may seem like small things, but these are the experiences that help turn a house into a home and a neighborhood into a community.
For those of us who love Almaden Valley and the South Bay, that's something worth celebrating.
